Chris Linton
ES – Early Starter 幼兒啟蒙班
EL2B – Elementary 2B 小學基礎英語班 2B
背景:
Chris Linton says:
My name is Chris Linton and I am looking forward to teaching your children over the next year. I am a Canadian from Ottawa, Ontario and moved to Taipei to pursue my passion for teaching. After graduating from Carleton University with a degree in Political Science, I obtained my certification for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Oxford Seminars. I moved to Seoul, South Korea where I taught English classes to children aged 4 to 15 for nearly a year and half. My previous experience in Korea not only helped me develop strong teaching skills and material for young ESL learners, but also cemented my passion for teaching English. While encouraging my students to perform at their academic best, I always try to keep students as engaged as possible. I believe children learn best when they are stimulated and challenged to their full potential. I look forward to meeting you and working with both you and your children towards a comprehensive and joyous year.

Gerald Blaney says:
My name is Gerald Blaney. I’m from Hog Mountain, Georgia, in the United States. I completed my undergraduate at Emory University, with a major in French and a minor in African Studies. I also received a Master of Public Health degree from Mercer School of Medicine. Before Columbia, I taught ages 5 - 15 years at another school in Taipei. These classes ranged in level from introductory phonics to high school literature. My experience at that school helped me to develop an understanding of the variety of learning styles of students, and to develop my style of teaching. I want my classroom to be a friendly and cheerful place. I believe that children learn best when their teacher is able to cultivate a meaningful relationship with each of them, and adapt the classroom to suit each student’s unique needs and learning styles. I look forward to getting to know you and your students.

ELPH – Elementary Phonics小學自然發音班

Gloria Tan says:
My name is Gloria Tan. I have been teaching English at Taipei Montessori School for 8 years and at Columbia English Language School for more than 6 years. I received my TESOL Certification from Columbia University, New York, U.S.A. I love teaching children at a young age. Through the years, I have never lost interest in teaching young children and being with them in and out of the classroom. I love teaching because I learn a lot from my own students. Their love of learning and their love of the world around them inspire me to be a better teacher. As a grownup, my passion toward things and the people around me is refreshed by being around my students.

Mimi Hsiao says:
My name is Mi Mi Hsiao and I graduated from Canterbury University in Christchurch, New Zealand with a Bachelor degree in Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood Education). I am delighted to be your child’s English phonics teacher this year! I have been working as an English teacher for children ranging from preschool to elementary school mainly in conversation, pronunciation and grammar. In addition, I have spent more than 4 years researching and editing teaching materials. My teaching philosophy is to help children become life-long learners, so their learning is motivated and improved constantly, and they become happy and confident learners in the future. My goal is to provide a holistic (physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual) learning environment for children. I am looking forward to working closely with you and your child to help them learn and grow happily!
Sarah Grzezinski
SP1 – Summer Program Level 1 夏令營小學課程 Level 1
背景:
Sarah Grzezinski says:
My name is Sarah Grzezinski and I grew up in the biggest city in Wisconsin. My first two years of university were spent at UW-Madison studying linguistics, writing, and journalism. I subsequently transferred to UW-Milwaukee for two more to focus on editing and creative writing. I arrived in Taiwan in 2014, and taught English for the past year in Taoyuan. I’ve taught everything from vocabulary, phonics, and reading to grammar, writing, and linguistics, and my students have ranged from age 3 to 14 in class and privately. To be the best mentor for developing youth, an instructor must always be searching for new ways to pique their students’ interest as well as challenge their abilities as they improve their level. Everyone learns in a different way, and successful students are the product of flexible, open learning environments. I aim to create such a space for your children and their growing, amazing brains!
